If you want your blog to do well in the search engines, you need to choose the right keywords. What are the right keywords? That is a question a lot of people ask me. The truth is that the most important thing you can do for your blog is to choose the right keywords. Choosing the right keywords will determine whether your blog is found in the search engines or not.
How do you choose the right keyword?
The keywords you choose should have lots of searches but low to medium competition. medium competition is better than high. Just look at what your competition is doing.
For example, let’s say that you chose the keyword, “make money online”. Now, do you think there is going to be a lot of competition? Not really. Now if you choose the keyword, “make money working at home”, it is going to be very hard to get ranked well for that keyword. It’s going to take a lot of work before you get good rankings for that keyword.
What about the other main keywords that have good for medium competition? That should be easy to rank for. Let’s look at, “weight loss” that has medium competition.
That one is easier to rank for and get traffic to your blog. Low competition keywords are good. Ideally, you should target keywords that have less than 50,000 competing pages. At least then you will get ranked on the first page of the search engines.
You should do this keyword research manually. If you use keyword tools there is no point. The reason is that the search volume will be way too low.
You can follow the program in this link to do the research yourself.
Or you can get the Keyword elite to research for you. It’s just an extra plug-in that gives you highly researched keywords.
What you do is go to the keyword tool in a digital point. Once you have selected your keyword, you should see a list of related keywords. Scroll down and look for keywords that you may have missed.
If you need traffic and visitors then you need to look for keywords that have heavy search volume.
The bottom line with search engine optimization is that you need to do keyword research to find out what is going to bring you, buyers. Then you need to implement them on your website, exactly.
Now you don’t need to be an SEO expert. You just need to use the knowledge that you learn the basics of SEO and apply it to your web site. You can do this manually. I have great information on all the steps of how to do it.
Here is some keyword advice that you can use
1. Use the Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool and type in your niche.2. Take the keywords and type each one in exactly to see how many times they were searched. Put the number of times they were searched into Google in parenthesis.3. If the number of searched hits is under 1,000,000 count them as a good keyword.4. Choose 5-10 of the keyword phrases that are the best selling.
They should be popular keywords that other site owners are taking advantage of.
Here is another tip on keyword research. You can use these 5 or 10 as your main keyword phrases. Then you can create 5 or 10 more content pages that are tightly related to your main keyword phrases. Just be sure to note all the keyword phrases that you create.
Take the time to create as many pages as you can. This will ensure that you get found by people who are searching for specific information on the subject.
Make sure that you use the keyword phrases that you created in the titles and throughout the content on each page.
Step #2 – Make a list of your top keyword phrases.
Step #3 – Write an article wrapped around each keyword phrase and link to it from your content page.
If you are writing an article or want to create free content for an article directory, you want to notice that Google gives importance to sites that have links to it. And I am sure that you have seen websites that have the same keywords in the domain name that they are using as the link.
The search engines look at these links as votes. The more votes a site has, the more important Google thinks it is. And this importance gets passed down to the links the site has got from other sites. So if you want to get the most out of this technique, try to get links that use the keyword phrases you are using.
Anchor the links with your keyword phrases as well. This is something that is often overlooked by many. You need to anchor links that are made from your keyword phrases.
